Mercy Seeks the Guilty

Meditate on this passage from the psalms until your mind is focused on God.
My soul languishes for your salvation; I hope in your word.
—Psalm 119:82

Mercy seeks the guilty... The physician has not come to heal the healthy, but to heal the sick. The great philanthropist has not come to bless the rich and the great, but the captive and the prisoner. He puts down the mighty from their seats, for he is a stern leveler, but he has come to lift the beggar from the dunghill, and to set him among princes, even the princes of his people.
—Charles Spurgeon

If possible, memorize this verse, so that you can think about it throughout the day.

So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts its mouth.
—Job 5:16

You have said, O Lord Jesus, that anyone who believes in you has everlasting life. I do now believe. With my whole heart I look to you as Savior, Friend, and King; and in this glad hour I receive from your hand not only life, but life more abundantly...
—F.B. Meyer
Pray now according to your needs: Praise, confession, thanksgiving, prayer, intercession for others, etc. Then close your devotions with...

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
—Matthew 6:9-13
