With the Holy Spirit

CALL TO PRAYER
Repeat and or meditate on this verse until your thoughts are centered on God.

God brought his servants forth, enriched
with Egypt's borrowed wealth;
and, what transcends all treasures else,
enriched with saving health.
 —Psalm 105:37
Suggested tune: Capel (CM)

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
I baptize you with water; but one who is more powerful than I is coming; I am not worthy to untie the thong of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
—Luke 3:16

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
I believe and confess that there is a Christian baptism, which must take place externally and internally; internally with the Holy Ghost and with fire, externally with water; in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Internal baptism is imparted by Christ to the penitent, as John the Baptist said. And this promise was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost.
 —Thomas van Imbroeck

TODAY'S PRAYER
Fill me, O Christ, that you may be my all in all...

YOUR OWN PRAYERS
Allow the above to help guide your own confession, praise, thanksgiving, and/or petition.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
 —Matthew 6:9-13
