We May Go in Peace

CALL TO PRAYER
Repeat and or meditate on this verse until your thoughts are centered on God.

Behold, what pity parents do
unto their children bear,
like pity beareth God to such
as worship him in fear.
 —Psalm 103:13
Suggested tune: Dundee (CM)

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Master, now you are dismissing your servant in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.
—Luke 2:29-32

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
We may go in peace, if our eyes have seen him who satisfies our vision, and whose bright presence will go with us into the darkness.
—Alexander Maclaren

TODAY'S PRAYER
You have shown me your salvation, Lord. Grant me peace, that I may go where you send me...

YOUR OWN PRAYERS
Allow the above to help guide your own confession, praise, thanksgiving, and/or petition.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
 —Matthew 6:9-13
