The Hope of Glory

CALL TO PRAYER
Repeat and or meditate on this verse until your thoughts are centered on God.

Behold, O God, for you alone
can timely aid dispense.
On your anointed servant look,
and come to his defense,
 —Psalm 84:9
Suggested tune: Ich Singe Dir (CM)

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his Name Immanuel.
—Isaiah 7:14

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Our Savior, although truly man, was as to his human nature the Holy One of God. Let us reverently bow before the holy Child whose innocence restores to humanity its ancient glory; and let us pray that he may be formed in us, the hope of glory.
—Charles Spurgeon (alt.)

TODAY'S PRAYER
You alone, O Christ, are my hope of glory. Here and now, my heart is your home; make it your own...

YOUR OWN PRAYERS
Allow the above to help guide your own confession, praise, thanksgiving, and/or petition.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
 —Matthew 6:9-13
