The Lord Is Faithful

CALL TO PRAYER
Repeat and or meditate on this verse until your thoughts are centered on God.

But thou my God, art still most high,
and all thy lofty foes,
who thought they might securely sin,
shall be o'erwhelmed with woes.
 —Psalm 92:8-9
Suggested tune: McKee (CM)

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
The Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.
—2 Thessalonians 3:3

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Q. What is thy only comfort in life and death?
A. That I with body and soul, both in life and death, am not my own, but belong unto my faithful Savior Jesus Christ; who, with his precious blood, has fully satisfied for all my sins, and delivered me from all the power of the devil; and so preserves me that without the will of my heavenly Father, not a hair can fall from my head; yea, that all things must be subservient to my salvation, and therefore, by his Holy Spirit, he also assures me of eternal life, and makes me sincerely willing and ready, henceforth, to live unto him.
—Heidelberg Catechism, Lord's Day 1

TODAY'S PRAYER
When evil overwhelms me, Lord, help me to trust that you have already overwhelmed evil. I belong to you, and nothing can pluck me from your hand...

YOUR OWN PRAYERS
Allow the above to help guide your own confession, praise, thanksgiving, and/or petition.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
 —Matthew 6:9-13
