I Am Sending You

CALL TO PRAYER
Repeat and or meditate on this verse until your thoughts are centered on God.
You turned my grief to dancing,
from sackcloth set me free.
You wrapped me up in gladness;
I shall not silent be.
Indeed, my soul, my glory,
will praise you and adore;
O Lord, my God, I'll thank you
both now and evermore.
 —Psalm 30:11-12
Suggested tune: Munich (76.76D)

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Go on your way. See, I am sending you out like lambs into the midst of wolves.
—Luke 10:3
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
If the sentence ends with ‘lambs into the midst of wolves,’ it begins with ‘I am sending you,’ and that is enough, for he will defend them when he sees the wolf coming.
 —Alexander Maclaren (alt.)
TODAY'S PRAYER
When I feel ill equipped to do your will in the world, when I am frightened to speak your word or act on your behalf for the sake of my neighbor, remind me, O Lord, that it is you who send me, it is you who are by my side, and it is your Spirit that guides me...

YOUR OWN PRAYERS
Allow the above to help guide your own confession, praise, thanksgiving, and/or petition.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
 —Matthew 6:9-13
