All Were Invited to Return

Repeat and or meditate on this verse until your thoughts are centered on God.
. From the earth, O praise the Lord's Name,
all you deeps, sea creatures all,
fire and hail and snow and vapors,
stormy winds that heed his call...
kings of earth and all its peoples,
princes, and its judges all,
boys and girls, young men and women,
older folk and children small
 —Psalm 148:7-8, 11-12 (Tune: Beecher, 87.87 D)
I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you.
—Isaiah 44:22
The call to repentance was sounded with unmistakable clearness, and all were invited to return. Have you, reader, chosen your own way? Have you wandered far from God? Have you sought to feast upon the fruits of transgression, only to find them turn to ashes upon your lips? And now, your life plans thwarted and your hopes dead, do you sit alone and desolate? That voice which has long been speaking to your heart, but to which you would not listen, comes to you distinct and clear, “Arise and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted. Return to your Father’s house. He invites you, saying, Return to me; for I have redeemed you.
 —Ellen G. White (1917)
O everlasting God, let the light of thine eternity now fall upon my passing days. O holy God, let the light of thy perfect righteousness fall upon my sinful ways. O most merciful God, let the light of thy love pierce to the most secret corners of my heart and overcome the darkness of sin within me...
 —John Baillie
Allow the above to help guide your own confession, praise, thanksgiving, and/or petition.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
 —Matthew 6:9-13
