Unless the Lord...

CALL TO PRAYER
Repeat and or meditate on this verse until your thoughts are centered on God.
Unless the Lord shall build the house,
the builders nothing gain.
Unless the Lord the city keep,
the watchers watch in vain.
 —Psalm 127:1
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Keep your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears; for there is a reward for your work, says the Lord: they shall come back from the land of the enemy; there is hope for your future, says the Lord: your children shall come back to their own country.
—Jeremiah 31:16-17
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
[The fourth petition of the Lord's Prayer is] Give us this day our daily bread; that is, be pleased to provide us with all things necessary for the body, that we may thereby acknowledge thee to be the only fountain of all good, and that neither our care nor industry, nor even thy gifts, can profit us without thy blessing; and therefore that we may withdraw our trust from all creatures, and place it alone in thee.
—Heidelberg Catechism, Lord's Day 50, Answer to Question 125

TODAY'S PRAYER
What is before us, we know not, whether we shall live or die. But this we know: that all things are ordered and sure. Everything is ordered with unerring wisdom and unbounded love, by thee, our God, who art love. Grant us in all things to see thy hand; through Jesus Christ our Lord...

YOUR OWN PRAYERS
Allow the above to help guide your own confession, praise, thanksgiving, and/or petition.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
 —Matthew 6:9-13
