Unless You Repent

CALL TO PRAYER
Repeat and or meditate on this verse until your thoughts are centered on God.
Human steps are gently guided
if we in the Lord delight.
If we stumble, we'll not falter:
We're by God's own hands held tight.
 —Psalm 37:23-24
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Do you think that because these Galileans suffered in this way they were worse sinners than all other Galileans? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as they did.
—Luke 13:2-3
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Instead of looking upon the suffering of others and asking what they did to deserve it, we should realize that we are all in this life together. Now is the time to turn our lives around, acknowledge our complicity in the evils of the world, and work with our neighbors to create a better world where none suffer needlessly

TODAY'S PRAYER
O Lord, forgive my failure to apply to myself the standards of conduct I demand of others; my blindness to the suffering of others and my slowness to be taught by my own; my slowness to see the good in my fellows and to see the evil in myself; my hardness of heart towards my neighbors' faults and my readiness to make allowance for my own...

YOUR OWN PRAYERS
Allow the above to help guide your own confession, praise, thanksgiving, and/or petition.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
 —Matthew 6:9-13
