Looking for Fruit

CALL TO PRAYER
Repeat and or meditate on this verse until your thoughts are centered on God.
You are my help; I'll sing to you
in shadow of your wing.
Your right hand, it sustains me still,
wherefore I to you cling.
 —Psalm 63:7-8
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and found none.
—Luke 13:6
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Am I the fig tree in Luke 13? Do I profess faith in God, yet bear no fruit for God's realm? When and where can I speak for justice, serve my neighbor, show more love, be a peacemaker, share my gifts?

TODAY'S PRAYER
Help me, O God, to identify the gifts that you have given me; and help me to use them for your glory and my neighbor's good...

YOUR OWN PRAYERS
Allow the above to help guide your own confession, praise, thanksgiving, and/or petition.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
 —Matthew 6:9-13
